Project Overview

In collaboration with a top U.S. automotive parts supplier, TIMEAST developed 

a custom automatic O-ring assembly system to meet the specific demands of 

automotive filter component production. The system was designed to improve 

production efficiency, ensure consistent assembly quality, and automate critical

 processes such as feeding, O-ring installation, inspection, and sorting.

The O-ring assembly system includes components from globally recognized brands to

  • PLC & HMI: Allen Bradley for seamless control and monitoring

  • Pneumatic Components: SMC for precise air control and consistent operation

Working Process

The system’s process flow is optimized for efficiency:

  1. Automatic Feeding

    Components are fed automatically via vibratory bowls into the assembly station.

  2. O-Ring Assembly

    The O-rings are placed onto the filter components with high precision.

  3. Inspection

    Keyence inspection system checks assembly quality in real-time.

  4. Sorting

    OK parts are sent to the output, while NG parts are rejected automatically.

  5. Finished Product

    Final products are discharged for further processing.
