A customer required a fully automated assembly solution for O-rings and plastic filter components.
The production process needed to ensure consistent assembly quality, eliminate missing components,
and automatically separate defective products before packaging.
To meet these requirements, TIMEAST developed a fully automatic assembly and inspection system
integrating feeding, assembly, vision verification, and OK/NG sorting into a single production line.
The machine operates continuously without manual intervention during normal production, significantly
improving productivity and product consistency.
Before automation, the customer faced several production issues:
Manual O-ring installation was labor-intensive.
Incorrect O-ring positioning occasionally occurred.
Missing components could not always be detected.
Product quality relied heavily on operator experience.
Manual inspection reduced overall production efficiency.
The customer required a solution capable of automatic assembly and 100% quality verification.
TIMEAST designed a fully automatic assembly system utilizing dual vibratory bowl feeders,
rotary indexing assembly, vision inspection, and automatic sorting.
Automatic Feeding

O-rings and plastic filter components are automatically supplied through independent vibratory bowl feeders.
Linear feeding tracks transfer parts to designated pick-up positions, ensuring stable and continuous production.

A 8-stations rotary indexing table transports components through each assembly stage.
Automatic pick-and-place mechanisms accurately load components onto fixtures.
The assembly station performs precision press-fit assembly between the O-ring and filter component.

A Keyence vision alignment system inspects every assembled product.
Inspection items include:
O-ring presence
O-ring position
Component orientation
Assembly completion
Product status verification
This ensures that every product is inspected before discharge.

Based on the inspection results:
Qualified products are automatically discharged into the OK collection bin.
Defective products are automatically directed to the NG collection bin.
This eliminates manual sorting and improves production reliability.
The equipment is built using globally recognized industrial components.
| Component | Brand |
| PLC | Allen-Bradley |
| HMI | Allen-Bradley |

FAQ
Q1. Why is vision inspection important for O-ring assembly?
A: Vision inspection can automatically detect missing, misplaced, or incorrectly assembled
O-rings, ensuring product quality before shipment.
Q2. Can the machine handle different product sizes?
A: Yes. Feeding systems, fixtures, and assembly tooling can be customized according to product
dimensions and production requirements.Similar customization is also available for our
automatic O-ring assembly machine platforms.
Q3. Can production parameters be adjusted?
A: Yes. Operators can view and modify production parameters directly through the Allen-Bradley HMI.
Q4. Is the machine suitable for continuous production?
A: Yes. Industrial-grade components and automated operation make the machine suitable for long-term production environments.
Q5. Can the system be integrated into existing production lines?
A: Yes. The machine can be customized for integration with upstream and downstream automation equipment.
